A member of the firm Kelly, Kelleher, Reilly & Simpson since 1988, Donald J. Maroney has a wide
range of civil litigation experience in both the state and federal courts. His areas of legal expertise include
commercial and civil litigation, with a concentration in personal injury and product liability cases as well as
bankruptcy actions, collections, secured transactions and criminal defense.
He is a graduate of both Providence College and Vermont Law School. In 1990 Mr. Maroney
presented a successful argument to the Rhode Island Supreme Court on behalf of an insurance carrier that has
had a significant impact on the insurance industry. He currently serves as corporate counsel for a large
truck dealership group in New England, providing litigation and advisory services on a broad spectrum of
complex issues.
Mr. Maroney has served as an assistant solicitor for the Towns of Narragansett and South Kingstown
in criminal prosecutions. He is member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association.
